Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Wvve collects, why we collect it, how we use Google services and affiliate networks such as CJ.com, and how your cookie choices work.

Google services

We use Google for sign-in/auth support, maps, travel data sources, fonts/design assets, and optional analytics or ad technology when enabled.

Affiliate tracking

We participate in affiliate programs, including CJ.com/CJ Affiliate. We may earn commissions from eligible clicks or bookings.

Cookie choices

Essential cookies stay on. Analytics, optimized sponsor placements, and partner referral attribution are controlled from cookie settings.

1. Scope and controller

This Privacy Policy applies to Wvve websites, apps, account features, cruise discovery tools, maps, support flows, newsletters, and related services that link to this policy (the “Services”). “Wvve,” “we,” “us,” and “our” mean the Wvve service operated for users of wvve.app.

Third-party booking sites, cruise lines, affiliate networks, Google services, and other external properties have their own privacy policies. When you leave Wvve or interact with embedded third-party services, their policies govern their handling of your information.

2. Information we collect

Account and profile information. We may collect your name, email address, sign-in identifiers, profile photo, saved preferences, favorites, trip ideas, newsletter status, support messages, and other information you choose to provide.

Cruise and travel activity. We may collect searches, filters, viewed sailings, saved cruises, map interactions, selected ports, requested flights or hotels, and similar on-platform activity needed to operate and improve Wvve.

Device, log, and usage information. We collect technical data such as IP address, browser and device details, pages viewed, referring URLs, timestamps, approximate location derived from request headers, diagnostics, and security logs.

Affiliate and sponsor interactions. If you click sponsored or partner links, we may record placement ID, partner name, destination, cruise ID, outbound URL, timestamp, and similar referral metadata. Affiliate networks and booking partners may also receive browser request data and attribution parameters when you visit them.

3. How we use information

  • Provide, maintain, secure, debug, and improve Wvve.
  • Operate accounts, authentication, settings, favorites, support, and newsletters.
  • Personalize cruise discovery, maps, saved preferences, and related travel suggestions.
  • Measure product usage and performance when analytics are enabled.
  • Show sponsor placements and, with your consent, use on-site activity to choose more relevant placements.
  • Support affiliate attribution, commission reporting, partner reconciliation, and fraud prevention.
  • Comply with law, enforce our Terms, and protect Wvve, users, and partners.

4. Google services we use

Wvve uses Google products and Google-related services in several places. Depending on the feature, Google may receive identifiers, browser data, IP address, device information, interaction data, account information you authorize, and content required to provide the service.

  • Google sign-in and authentication support, including Google OAuth through NextAuth and Firebase/Google authentication services where enabled.
  • Google Maps embeds and outbound Google Maps links for route, port, and destination views.
  • Google travel data sources, such as Google Flights or Google Hotels providers, when Wvve searches for related trip options.
  • Google font families used as design assets; these are typically served by Wvve's Next.js build rather than by browser requests directly to Google.
  • Google advertising and measurement hosts, including DoubleClick, Google Ad Services, Google Tag Manager, Google/Firebase Analytics, or Google AdSense, if an approved sponsor embed or optional analytics configuration uses them.

5. Affiliate marketing and CJ.com tracking

Wvve participates in affiliate programs, including CJ.com (CJ Affiliate), and may participate in other partner networks such as Awin or direct cruise-line and travel partnerships. We may earn commissions when you click eligible links, visit partner sites, or complete qualifying transactions. Those commissions help fund Wvve and do not by themselves change the price shown by the partner.

CJ Affiliate links may route through CJ-owned tracking domains such as anrdoezrs.net or related CJ domains. The link can include Wvve publisher identifiers, campaign identifiers, UTM parameters, click timestamps, referral URL, browser/device information, IP address, and similar attribution data. CJ and the merchant may use that data for commission attribution, reporting, fraud prevention, and their own compliance obligations.

Turning off Partner referral attribution stops Wvve’s optional first-party affiliate-click logging and related consent cookie. It cannot prevent the normal browser request data sent to an external partner you choose to open, and it does not control cookies or pixels that a partner site or affiliate network may set under its own policy.

6. Cookie Policy

Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies let Wvve remember preferences, operate sessions, protect the service, measure usage, and support sponsor or affiliate workflows.

Current Wvve storage can include wvve_cookie_consent_v1 in local storage, consent cookies such as wvve_affiliate and wvve_optimized_ads, an anonymous visitor token named wvve_vid, the theme cookie, and authentication/session cookies set by our auth stack.

Browser controls can block or delete cookies, but blocking essential cookies can break sign-in, account features, consent persistence, or site reliability. Wvve cookie settings control Wvve’s optional categories; they do not replace controls provided by Google, CJ, your browser, your device, or third-party partner sites.

7. How we share information

  • Service providers. Vendors that host, secure, authenticate, analyze, email, store, or support the Services.
  • Google and other integrated services. Information required for sign-in, maps, travel data, analytics, ads, and related integrations described above.
  • Affiliate networks and partners. Referral and attribution information when you click partner links, interact with sponsor placements, or complete eligible partner transactions.
  • Legal, safety, and business transfers. Information may be disclosed to comply with law, protect rights and safety, enforce terms, or support a merger, acquisition, financing, or asset transfer.

We do not sell contact lists. Some US privacy laws define certain affiliate attribution, analytics, or advertising disclosures as a “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” even when no money is paid for personal information. Use cookie settings or contact us to exercise applicable opt-out rights.

8. Your choices and privacy rights

You can update account information in Wvve, unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in those emails, change browser cookie settings, and manage Wvve optional cookie categories from cookie settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, or opt-out of certain targeted advertising, sale, or sharing practices. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.

We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the Services, maintaining records, resolving disputes, preventing fraud, complying with legal obligations, and enforcing agreements. Security safeguards are used, but no internet service can be guaranteed completely secure.

9. Children and international users

Wvve is not intended for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Wvve is operated from the United States; if you use the Services from another country, your information may be processed in the United States and other places where our providers operate.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Wvve, vendors, laws, or partner requirements change. The “Last updated” date above shows when this version was posted. Material changes will be posted on this page or communicated through another reasonable method.
